A REALTOR® protects your interest: You may think that skipping the part where you find a real estate agent and going directly to the seller’s agent, or listing agent as we call it, of the house you want will score you a deal. This is simply not the truth and will most likely result in the opposite and I’ll tell you why, the seller’s agent has a fiduciary duty to their client, meaning they’re responsible to act in the best interest of their client, the best interest of their client is earning top dollar for their home in a timely manner. Going into a transaction unrepresented makes you an easy target and you will most likely be overpaying as opposed to scoring a deal. Having a well versed and experienced REALTOR® on your side gives you leverage during negotiation, assistance in dealings with all levels of the home buying process and a hand to hold while going through all necessary steps.
Working with a buyer’s agent comes at no cost to you: A REALTOR® makes the sales process a lot less overwhelming which is a priceless asset to have on your side when going through a transaction. Your real estate agent when buying will be compensated from the seller’s side meaning you can catch a break from all the seemingly endless additional costs that are associated with buying a property.
You have access to your Realtor’s knowledge, expertise and network: This is crucial, your realtor has been in the business and works in it all day everyday if they’re a full time agent and they have built up quite a bit of experience they have can play a huge role in benefiting you and serving your best interest. If you are in the market for a property I would certainly interview multiple real estate professionals to see which one is the best fit for you and your needs.
